I am proud to be specializing in services that not only feature, but also encourage and celebrate this lifestyle. Whether you’ve chosen this path to lose weight, regulate your blood sugar, improve your heart health, or just upgrade your daily diet, I can help you meet your goals and enjoy healthy, balanced, and DELICIOUS meals.
One of the biggest challenges I’ve found with eating low-carb is finding variety in my food choices. I’m exhausted when I finish work, and too many times I find myself staring into the fridge uninspired. Many people not familiar with our lifestyle mistakenly think it’s all about just meat, cheese and eggs…we know that’s not true…but how many times have you “run out” of creative and satisfying ideas for what you can and cannot eat? When was the last time you had what you would consider a “gourmet” meal? I won’t even ask about desserts…(check out some of my low carb treats here)
I’ve been living a lifestyle of low glycemic eating for over ten years now. I initially lost weight on this eating plan, but will maintain this lifestyle for the rest of my life because it helps me to maintain a healthy body mass index, keeps my blood sugar steady regulating mood and energy level, and I believe, makes me healthier. I could rant and rave about the epidemic of obesity and Type II diabetes in this nation, the heart and artery disease, and sickening of our youth from high-fructose corn syrup, “energy drinks” and soda, nutritionally void convenience and fast foods, cheap and empty calorie-rich starches, and humongous restaurant portions…but I won’t. I firmly believe that it is up to each and every one of us to do our own research and choose a lifestyle that we believe is right for us. Please note I did not say “diet” or even “nutritional plan”…I’m talking about a lifestyle. Health must come from a holistic approach, and this approach includes not only the traditional factors of what we eat and physical activity level, (as most “diets” do) but also the less obvious, like where you live, where you work and what you do for a living, who you live with, your daily obligations, the health of your loved ones…you get the point. Yes, sometimes your health is directly determined by what you’re eating, but it also has a lot to do with what’s eating you.
Stresses from a variety of sources, including time constraints, can be a large factor in how you take care of yourself. Sticking to a healthy lifestyle plan requires a lot of time and effort, two things not all of us have the luxury of dictating in our lives. Hiring a personal chef can be the key to finding extra time for yourself and your family, and taking some of the effort out of maintaining your physical health and emotional well being.
Personal Chef Services
Let me help you to help yourself, by providing cost-efficient, lifestyle-specific meals to you in your home. Whether your entire family is participating in, or just supporting your lifestyle, I can work with you individually to plan menus that will please everyone at your table. Conversely, some individuals find it helpful for me to provide specifically for them only, prepping and preparing lunches and snacks to bring to work or have on hand at home, as well as tasty, satisfying dinners and maybe a treat or two that help them to meet their dietary goals. See my suggested menus for low carb services here.
Don’t you hate it when you go to a party and there’s simply nothing for you to eat? Maybe you haven’t had people over in awhile, or hosted that party, special celebration or holiday meal because it’s just too hard to please everyone else without tempting yourself to eat poorly? Let Sweet Enough come to your rescue! Whether it’s a sit down dinner for 10 or a cocktail party for 50, the food will be so good they won’t even know they’re eating “your way”.
Hands-on Cooking Lessons
Maybe you love to cook, but are having a hard time “converting” some of your favorite recipes or dishes. Craving pizza but don’t know how to fit it into your healthy living plan? How about baking…have you given that up entirely? What about desserts…can you bring your own no-added sugar pumpkin cheesecake to the next potluck? Sweet Enough will come to your home and show you the ropes of low-carb/low glycemic cooking and menu planning. Whether you’re just starting out, or are a “lifer”, I bet I can show you some great new methods, recipes, hints and tips that will renew your motivation and get those creative cooking juices going again! Working together, we’ll create a plan for one hands-on lesson, or a series, highlighting specific recipes or methods of your choice. Suggested lesson topics include Low-Carb/Low-Glycemic Lifestyle for Beginners, Alternative Grains & Baking, Low-Carb Desserts, and Quick & Easy Entrees. Payment in advance will include the price of all ingredients and an hourly rate for instruction, and groups are welcome.
